Animal welfare:
Our sheepskins are a by-product of pastoral farming in New Zealand, where sheep are raised for food rather than for their skins. No animal is farmed for its sheepskin. New Zealand law prohibits mulesing outright. The sheep graze outdoors year-round on a grass-fed diet.
Production:
Our skins are tanned in a facility audited every year for worker treatment, health and safety. The tannage is chrome-free.
Sustainability:
The tannery runs on solar power and recycles most of the water it uses. Wool biodegrades naturally in soil, unlike synthetics, which break down into microplastics.
Certifications:
Woolmark® licensed. OEKO-TEX® certified for ivory and light to medium shades. Independently tested for chemical safety and colour fastness.
