How to make a return

  1. Click START YOUR RETURN below, then enter your order number and email address.
  2. Select the items you’d like to return, and choose a refund or exchange.
  3. We’ll email to confirm your request. Once it’s approved, UK customers will receive a link to create their returns label.

What items are returnable?

  • You can start a return within 14 days of receiving your order.
  • Please return items in their original condition, with labels attached and in the original packaging where possible.
  • Bought from John Lewis? Please return it to John Lewis.

Exchanges & store credit

  • To exchange for a different size or colour, choose this option when you start your return. 
  • For a different item or store credit, select store credit / add a note when you start your return.
  • UK exchanges on full-price items are sent free of charge. International and sale exchanges are subject to delivery charges.

Are there any charges for returns?

  • UK customers can use our Royal Mail tracked returns label. £3.50 is deducted from your refund.
  • Faulty or incorrect item? Email us a photo at info@thesmallhome.co.uk and we’ll cover the return and refund you in full.
  • Prefer to send it yourself? Please use a tracked service and post it to

Keep your tracking number, as we can’t refund parcels that don’t reach us.

  • International customers: please use a tracked service such as DHL, UPS or FedEx. Return postage is at your cost.

How soon will I get my refund?

  • We’ll email you once your return has arrived and been checked.
  • Your refund will go back to your original payment method within 10 working days of your return reaching us.
