Team picks | Sale favourites

At The Small Home, the team gets to know our products pretty well. So, who better to share their favourites from the sale than the people who know The Small Home collections inside out? Here Anna, Helen and Gabe make their sale selections and explain why they would choose these pieces.

Anna’s Choice

1/ Zuzu Ada

With the summer holidays here, I plan to get out into nature and go to the beach and safari park with my two girls, Charlotte, 7 and Emma, 5. The Zuzu Ada is a practical bag as I can wash it, it is comfortable to carry, looks great and couldn’t be more perfect for this time of year when I need to take pretty much everything bar the kitchen sink!

2/ Palm Leaf Double Strap Sandals

Having two small girls, these double strap sandals are perfect because I don’t even have to put my hand down to put them on, I can just slide into them. They are comfortable and stylish without needing any effort and easy to wear at home, in the garden or going out.

3/ Astrid Silk Top in Champagne

I live on a working farm with animals and have two children, so when I go out, I like to make it really count. The Astrid Top in Champagne is such a beautiful colour and is so beautifully cut - I know I would feel wonderful in this. I would pair it with classic black trousers (which I already have) and a simple black clutch.

4/ Trimmed Shearling Gilet

I work from home and also help out on the farm. This shearling gilet would help keep me cosy and warm whilst sitting at a desk for long periods of time, but also allow me to pop outside for farm jobs or do school pick up without the need for a bulky coat.

5/ Anna Embroidered Dress in Maize

How could I not choose a dress with my own name?! This dress is such a summery colour, and has all-important long sleeves which I prefer as my very fair skin never tans. The Anna isn’t too tight or fitted in certain places which makes it extremely comfortable to wear. I always look for organic cotton because I know it will wash and wear well, and the natural breathable material can be helpful in summer - when it comes!

Helen’s Choice

1/ Mary Silk Dress

Firstly, this dress is effortlessly stylish and with its flowing fit is so comfortable and easy to wear. Then being made from 100% hand loomed silk, coupled with this stunning bronze hue, really elevates this into a ‘look-twice’ piece.

2/ Cumin Kimono Short

I don’t like thick, heavy dressing gowns so this shorter robe made from high-quality French hemp is what I slip on for breakfast. I love its clean lines, classic Kimono design and the warm colour offers the perfect neutral backdrop for doing my hair and make-up when I'm getting ready to go out.

3/ Moonstone Hoop Earrings

I love accessorising and these pretty hand-made earrings with delicate natural peach moonstones really zhuzh up the same old summer outfits. They also caught my eye because at less than half price, once you have treated yourself to a pair, they would make a great gift for friends.

4/ Soft Throw in Cream/Rose

The weather has been typically British recently so a soft stack of these cosy throws would be welcomed by chilly guests on an evening outside - or even inside! What makes these a great choice is their subtle blend of colours and their long luxe tassels.

5/ Dragon Diffusion A4 Pochette

This is a great alternative to those non-descript padded pockets everyone resorts to for transporting tech. This leather pochette is handwoven by Indian artisans, looks distinctive, and comes in two classic colours of Tan or Black (I’d happily have either) It is a stylish solution to the practical problem of travelling with laptop and papers.

6/ Bracken Baskets Varying Sizes

These beautiful baskets offer useful storage all around my home: for lipsticks and hair accessories in the bedroom, for pens in the office, they even entice my two teen girls to contain their clutter! They make great plant holders too. I’m planning a plant display in my bathroom and using these baskets will give a cohesive and considered finish.

Gabe’s Choice

1/ Zuzu Robin

These glorious strong shades of azure make you feel you are already on holiday and I know that Robin's good looks will elicit appreciative glances on the beach. For a ‘just-in-case’ packer like myself, the sizable Zuzu allows me to pack for ALL eventualities. Being washable is a dealmaker for me because it removes any stress about it getting grubby and I can simply enjoy using it knowing it will last and look good for many years.

2/ Duna Dress

This dress really comes into its own when you put it on and experience its fluid elegance and the wonderful weight of natural linen. With the 100% cotton underslip this dress has a lovely layered effect. I just feel great when I am wearing it and get lots of compliments in it which is always a boost.

3/ Blair Top in Maize

This top is a surprising choice for someone who doesn’t normally wear yellow but this glorious soft summery buttery tone gives me a gentle glow up. The ruched panel at the front offers structured drape yet it is longer at the back which flatters my figure. The best bit? It has pockets for that relaxed holiday feel and my lip balm!

4/  Beaten Gold Beaded Bangle

I love a bit of wrist interest which is delicate yet draws the eye. This handmade bracelet has pretty moss green, amber and ivory beads on a beaten gold-filled bangle and is interesting whilst still being understated. I would wear this every day and also give it as a gift.
