5 Gilet's Styled 5 Ways - Day 1 - The Everyday Look

Our 5 Gilets Styled 5 Ways series starts with an outfit that sums up how I love to dress day to day — simple, relaxed and still pulled together.

Watch our video below and see how stylist @VixWebbStyling put this look together...

Vix pairs our classic Charcoal Merino Gilet with soft winter whites to create a relaxed casual daywear look.

She found this feminine Sezane sweater on Vinted, which is a great way to sustainably buy pre-loved pieces at more affordable prices. There are lots of great Sezane knitwear currently available on Vinted. If you prefer to buy clothing new, this outfit would look fab back with this Sezane Angie Cardigan.

Our Charcoal Gilet and Sezane sweater is worn back with cream flared jeans from Mother Denim who make the most flattering cut of jeans. These are The Twister Skimp in a stretch denim with a high rise.

Vix finishes off the look with cosy Golden Goose shearling trainers, and a Chanel 22 bag. If the price tags of these two items are too high brand new, I'd recommend having a look online for pre-loved versions or high street versions of similar items.

This is the kind of outfit that works for just about anything — a coffee (here at @commonclapham, a mooch around the shops (here i've stopped in at @flowersbybirksen in Clapham). The gilet adds warmth and texture without bulk, which is why I find myself reaching for it most days once the weather turns.

There’s something I love about this mix of pale cream with charcoal — it feels fresh, classic and very wearable.

Check back in at 7pm tomorrow evening for Look 2 - a smart-casual edit that will take you from work meetings to evening plans...
